i luv fall !!!

guyssss. guess what’s coming up? FALL.

Fall, fall, fall. Man there is nothing quite like it. The crisp air. You can feel the seasons shifting. The scents of apple and cinnamon floating through the breeze. What’s your favorite thing to do in the fall? There are so many options.

Watching scary movies curled up on the couch with snacks and blankets.

Carving pumpkins.

Corn mazes.

Decorating the house.

Walks on the crunchy leaves with a hot drink.

The fashion. I mean, sweaters and sweatshirts for the win!

This is so cliche and straight forward, but it must be said. I think that as an adult I have grown to favor fall over summer. Summer was the best as a kid because it meant freedom. The summer breeze coming in through my open windows was the scent of endless possibilities. Pool parties, bonfires, etc. Now, summer just means that doing my everyday tasks is significantly more uncomfortable. I can’t wear flattering clothes, but have to trudge around in shorts all day. I sweat and my hair gets frizzy (yes, it does). I have to squint and scrunch my face every time I walk out the door. Bugs are rampant. Children are out of school, so everything is much busier. I do a summer hibernation inside with my lovely air conditioning.

Spring is great because the world starts to open up again. It rains a lot, sure and the weather can be very unpredictable but the temperature and sweet air is rewarding. Summer and winter are tied for last place because they are the two extremes of the spectrum. Both make it painful to go outside.

As I write this I plan on going to Barnes & Noble with my wife to get fall drinkies and look at some books. I mean what is better than that? This is a tradition that my mother had us do growing up and I hold it very fondly. That is such a specific vibe. It doesn’t help that TikTok has embraced the fall-early-2000’s-tuscan-mom-core aesthetic. If that makes no sense to you then I apologize, but I promise that it is a real thing. If you listen to the resonance midwest emo version then maybe it will help you understand. I have linked the song on Spotify below so that you can enjoy and embrace the fall vibes.
