Welcome to My Site
Hello! I’m glad that you made it to my site.
This will serve as my “hub” of sorts for all things concerning my author career.
I am currently a self-published author of one poetry collection and one chapbook and have many exciting plans for the future! This website will also feature a blog including the post that you are reading now, to not only serve as an extra creative outlet for me — one with much less pressure than a standalone book/project — but also will help keep you updated on everything that I’m working on!
Let me talk share my current plans…
Since I am self-published, everything is on me right now. Some of that is scary, but it also means that I have complete freedom and creative control over how my writing career goes! How exciting!
Growth is of course slow at first, and my dream is to live off of writing books (and therefore have all of my free time to write more) but I am okay with a slow start. This will help me get my foundation settled; teach me what I need to know. I also have decided that this is really for me. I mean I want to make works for others to enjoy and to positively impact their lives, but I am not doing this to please anyone or to chase riches/success.
I simply want to practice this passion of mine and have a productive hobby.
I tried submitting poems to some literary magazines and although I have yet to be accepted into one, I had a feeling that it would take many efforts to find my first “yes”. I have, though, halted my efforts into getting published and am rather focusing on building my own platform and organically finding loyal supporters. I think that it’s best that way for now. That way I am not banking my career on the decisions of others to “accept me”.
I’m honestly not sure if people still read blogs but I am going to do my best to post at least once a week on here to keep y’all updated and to build a nice catalogue of work. Sometimes I might post a poem that I am working on and want to share, or maybe it will be concerning something that I am currently struggling with. It also could just be about something completely unrelated to my writing, such as an album review.
If you stick around you will notice that I love many types of art. I am a man of several hobbies/interests. For example, I am currently studying Spanish, French, and now Greek. I love languages and learning about other cultures/ways of life. I still enjoy videogames and am currently playing through Pokemon Fire Red.
I enjoy trying and describing new wines. I enjoy birdwatching and walks outside. I still enjoy pickleball, though I have yet to really play so far this year. I am also trying to learn how to play the drums. I have always wanted to play, but can’t necessarily afford an entire kit right now, so I purchased a practice pad on Amazon that came with sticks and a stand. I usually put headphones on and try to practice along to music, trying different techniques. I figured that is better than nothing for now.
Anyways, I want to say thank you for being here and for supporting me on this journey.
